Upon receiving a distress call about a severely undernourished street dog in New Orleans, the Southern Animal Organization instantly sprang into action.
The workers of the organization were struck with disbelief at the poor dog’s condition. The Weimaraner mix, who is now referred to as Alex, was on the verge of starvation and could barely muster movements.
Swiftly, they transferred him to Vermilion Parish’s Rabies Animal Control, in New Orleans, for intensive care. During his check-up, an X-ray exposed a startling reality.
Alex had been resorting to rocks and twigs as food out of desperation. It was a sight that was tragically touching.

Initially, Diane fostered Alex, believing it to be a temporary arrangement.
Yet, as the days passed, their connection deepened, and it dawned on Diane that she had to become Alex’s legal owner.
