The fate of street dogs is always tough, but Josephine’s is particularly bad.
She became a mum and gave birth to twelve puppies, all alive, under adverse conditions.
But when she was caught, only six of her babies came with her – the other six escaped and disappeared without a trace.
Now Josephine is sitting in an overcrowded animal shelter with her remaining six puppies. She can barely cope with the pain of her loss and no one has the time to comfort her.
This is Josephine
Josephine is a young mum, she is only two years old. With a shoulder height of around 50 to 55 centimetres, she is a medium-sized dog.
She has a slim figure, a short coat in glossy black with a white chest patch, a narrow face and small floppy ears. So her appearance is really very noble.
But the look on this beautiful dog’s face is heartbreaking. There is so much sorrow to be seen, and at the same time so much love and gentleness.
You can also clearly see questions in her beautiful eyes: „What happened? Where are my babies? Where am I here? And what happens now?“
No one can give her the answers and unfortunately hardly any of the helpers ever have time to stroke Josephine and give her confidence.
But when someone does come round and give her attention, she is all the more grateful. She loves being stroked and being close to people.
Despite her bad experiences, she is a very gentle, kind-hearted dog who is always friendly with everyone.
This loving mum also shows that she has a clever mind and always wants to do everything right.
The ideal home for Josephine
At the moment Josephine is still looking after her babies, but very soon they will all be ready to find their forever families.
Josephine needs very warm-hearted people who will heal the young dog mum’s broken heart with lots of love and give her back her zest for life through many wonderful experiences.
She is particularly keen to cuddle and be close to her two-legged friends. She wants to snuggle up close, be stroked a lot, hear kind words and be a loyal companion for her family.
She would also like to do activities together and be kept busy both physically and mentally.
Empathy is particularly important for this gentle young dog, always and without exception.
A positively reinforcing, loving and patient upbringing is of course also a prerequisite.
