A group of excursionists are out in the Antarctic Ocean in rubber dinghies. In the middle of the icy, picturesque scenery, a small penguin suddenly appears.
What the penguin then does seems cute and funny at first glance, but in reality he is fighting for his life.
Penguin in mortal danger
People are understandably fascinated by the animal swimming through the water at high speed.
They don’t yet know why the little penguin is in such a hurry and what’s going on underwater.
In fact, a herd of orcas has surrounded the little seabird, and with it the boats.
Now you can see how an orca is hot on the penguin’s heels. Some of the whales are now also appearing next to the boats.
They seem to have no interest in humans. It’s a different story for the penguin.
In a panic, the little one races through the water and recognizes a saving target: one of the boats.
More difficult than expected
Excited, he tries to jump onto the boat, but as much momentum as he has, it’s not enough. He bounces off the edge of the inflatable boat and falls back into the water.
The people on the boat only gradually realize what is going on, while the little penguin takes another life-saving leap.
But he bounces off again and lands in the water in front of the hungry orcas.
While the little one struggles in extreme fear, some of the people film and photograph him. They apparently still think his desperate action is a sensational spectacle.
The little boy has now disappeared. Now there is a little concern as to whether he has been eaten.
The whales are dangerously close. But then the penguin suddenly jumps again with his last ounce of strength, as high and as far as he can.
He probably wouldn’t have made it again, but this time one of the people on the boat switches gears. He reaches out and pulls the terrified animal on board from the air.

If the boat had not passed by, the penguin would not have had a chance. He owes his life to this lucky coincidence, but that alone would not have been enough.
The little boy did not give up, even though he failed several times and the situation seemed hopeless.
This unwillingness to give up, together with the man’s help, was decisive for his survival.
Now the penguin is sitting on the boat between his rescuers. The video does not reveal what happens next – let’s hope the orcas lose interest soon.
