Orphaned kittens often have a hard time in life. They are still too weak to survive on their own and are dependent on outside help.
This makes it all the nicer when such a kitten is taken in by another animal mother and treated like one of her own children.
This is the case, for example, when a mother cat has kittens and takes in another kitten. But this story shows that it also works across species.
Mother dog has special offspring

Brittany Callan lives in Genesso, New York. There she finds a lonely kitten in a meadow.
It is lying there without parents, without siblings and it is clear that it cannot survive like this for long. It is far too young and needs the love of a mother.
She thinks of her dog at home. Ruby is a Doberman and gave birth to a litter of seven puppies just a few days ago.
Brittany decides to give it a try and hopes that her loving dog will accept the kitten.
So she takes the kitten home. It hasn’t even opened its eyes yet, it is so small and young.
Motherly love overcomes all boundaries

The plan works.
Ruby’s maternal instincts recognize that the little kitten is in dire need.
She licks the kitten, now called Ramblin Rose, as if it were her own child.
Brittany describes her dog as very compassionate.
In the meantime, Ramblin Rose has settled in well and loves her puppy siblings more than anything.
They cuddle and sleep together like one big happy family.

When the puppies are old enough, they will move to their new home.
And Ramblin Rose has already found a home too – when the time comes, Brittany’s cousin will take her home.
This heartwarming story beautifully demonstrates that love and compassion for family is not a matter of genes, but of the heart.
