It is one of many calls for help that the team from the dog rescue organization „Project Freedom Ride“ receives every week.
Three dogs were found abandoned in a cage in the middle of the wilderness. It is a mom with her two babies.
The animal rights activists are shocked and relieved at the same time
When the animal rights activists arrive at the scene, they see a deeply sad sight. The mother dog is hugging one of her children protectively while the other lies motionless.
At first, the animal welfare workers are cautious because they know from experience that some dogs are afraid of people and refuse to be helped.
But it soon becomes clear that these poor dog souls are very happy about the arrival of the rescuers. The mother dog’s face looks indescribably relieved.
She willingly comes out of the cage with the puppy she was holding earlier and lets them take her with them. Unfortunately, the other puppy can no longer get out of the cage because it is dead.
The dogs had been exposed to the cold without food and water for who knows how long. One of the babies did not survive.
The good news is that the mother and the second puppy were rescued in time.
A new life begins
The animal rights activists bring the two to the shelter, take care of them and bathe them. The mother dog and her baby seem happy about the affection and put up with everything.
The mother no longer tries to protect her baby because she seems to know that these people are friendly.
Full of trust and happiness, the two dogs cuddle with their rescuers and give out lots of kisses.
The veterinary examination reveals that the two dogs are in relatively good health. However, they do have worms and mange.
The mother dog and her puppy have to stay in the foster home for a few months to fully recover. After that, they will move into a loving forever home.
The animal welfare workers have already given them both names. The mother dog is called Mina. That means „protector“. Her child was christened Milo, which stands for „fighter“.
The two dogs have bravely fought their way through and survived the terrible thing that was done to them. Their rescue has given them a new, happy life.
