It’s a normal day when a pedestrian walks under a highway bridge in San Antonio, Texas. Suddenly the man flinches.
He hears desperate screams and they are coming from above. When he lifts his head, he can’t believe who is in a really bad situation.
Little baby cat in great distress
Up there at lofty heights, a small kitten is sitting on a concrete slab. The pedestrian can’t even imagine how the velvet paw got up there.
But one thing is certain: the little one won’t get down without help. Now help is needed quickly before the kitten makes a fatal mistake out of sheer desperation.
Get lost with your stupid net
The man calls the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS).
Officer Garcia is the first on the scene and tries to catch the little cat with a net. But the velvet paw doesn’t think much of it.
„Just get lost with your stupid net“,
she thinks to herself, darting here and there on the concrete slab. Of course, Garcia doesn’t want to push the kitten too hard either.
How easy it is for her to slip over the edge and fall to her death while trying to escape. A short time later, two other SAACS employees appear.
They have a ladder and a cat trap with them. They manage to catch the little cat and bring it safely down to the ground.
Now the worst is over.
Waiting for a loving home
The three animal rescuers give the little cat the pretty name Zelda and take her to the premises of their organization.
Here, Zelda receives all the care imaginable. Zelda can relax and recover from her shock for a few days.
The Animal Defense League of Texas then takes in the little cat. Here she really blossoms and wins the hearts of all the staff.
At the same time, the search for a loving home for sweet Zelda begins.
