A man in southern California is looking after the grounds of a kindergarten.
He is in the process of cutting back plants when he notices a dark spot out of the corner of his eye.
There, some distance away, something is moving. The man takes a closer look and is amazed at what he sees.
Frightened little guy

The brown spot is a small, fuzzy dog. It certainly doesn’t belong to the kindergarten and is completely unknown to the man.
The furry friend is probably a stray. The man approaches the dog cautiously, but the little fellow is afraid of him and runs away.
Building trust

The next day, the man comes back to work at the kindergarten and the little dog is there again.
The following day he meets him again, but the dog still won’t let him get close to him. This goes on for a few days.
The man brings water and some food. Gradually, the dog gains some trust. But he still won’t let him touch him.
Dog in danger

After work, the man is always very worried. There are lots of coyotes in the area, which could be dangerous for the little furry friend.
But the dog obviously knows how to avoid this danger, because every morning he returns unharmed.
But things can’t go on like this forever and the man doesn’t know how to catch his little friend.
So he turns to Suzette Hall. She runs an animal rescue organization and has a lot of experience with strays.
In search of a home

Suzette quickly manages to catch the little dog. He is given the name Rollo. The man would actually like to take Rollo home with him.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have the time to look after the dog permanently.
At least he can take the little one in his arms once and say goodbye to him. Suzette is now looking for a new home for Rollo.
