One day, animal lover Taylor comes across a terrifying Facebook post: an old lady dog has to go by Sunday, according to the post.
Taylor can’t believe that a person can treat their dog like this. She makes a snap decision and decides to take action.
Maple is offered for free because she is too old
The post states that the old dog Maple has to be gone by Sunday. As no one is interested in her, she should cost nothing.
Taylor and her boyfriend don’t mind that Maple is a senior citizen. Nor are they put off by Maple’s condition, which they notice when she arrives.
The poor old beagle dog smells very unpleasant, has claws that are far too long and looks generally neglected. You can tell she hasn’t had a good life so far.
But that is about to change. Taylor and her boyfriend take the pitiful creature home with them.
Maple is completely exhausted. She immediately lies down in the dog bed provided, curls up and sleeps for days.
But the dog is not only in a poor physical condition, she is also in a poor mental state. The senior dog seems shy and frightened.
In her old age, Maple is finally happy
Taylor and her boyfriend make every effort to nurse Maple back to health and, with lots of love, take away her shyness. They are supported by their dog Cooper, whom they rescued years ago.
Cooper and the two animal-loving people actually manage to make Maple blossom completely within a short space of time. The two dogs are best friends straight away.
Maple, who was initially so shy, developed into a curious, self-confident senior who enjoys her beautiful new life to the full.
Maple has now been with her family for over a year and has made a full recovery.
Taylor explains:
„She started out as this very, very closed off and very shy dog, and now she wants to explore everything. I think the biggest thing has been just being so loving to her and giving her all the love, all the treats, all the belly rubs.“
Maple is overjoyed that she has found a loving home in her old age after all. Taylor and her friend have become Maple’s heroes.
The two animal lovers know: Every dog deserves a chance, no matter how old they are or what condition they are in.
