A little puppy called Lucky is now living up to his name after a difficult start in life.
Desperate cries for help
Lucky was not even a day old when he was found by a woman in his neighborhood.
She had followed the heartbreaking cries for help from the little furry friend.
Her own dog was doing his business when she stumbled across a litter of puppies that had just been born.
The owner was a man who „bred“ dogs in his backyard and couldn’t care less what happened to the baby fur noses.
As he could no longer benefit from them, he simply handed them over to the concerned woman.
Foster mom goes into action
When Clanay Reza, Lucky’s future mom, found out about the litter, she immediately offered to help the woman.
„If you need a foster mom or help with the rescue, just let me know and I’ll come by and get her,“
according to a report from The Dodo.
As the little furballs had just been born, they were naturally ultra-tiny when Clanay took them in.
She recounted:
„They looked like baby hamsters, that’s how tiny they were!“
Lucky is the weakest link
Lucky was the weakest puppy. He was so small that Clanay initially gave him no chance of survival.
Nevertheless, she decided to give him a fighting chance. In the end, Lucky was the only surviving puppy of the litter.
After his stronger siblings didn’t make it, Clanay did everything she could to ensure that Lucky didn’t become a victim of the tragic breeding story.
Little fighter on four paws
Fortunately, Lucky had no intention of giving in either. He initially had difficulty drinking from a bottle.
But the will to eat was there. After about a week, Lucky was obviously over the worst.
After two weeks it was clear: Lucky had made it! The little fellow was able to stand up, take his first steps and open his eyes.
He continued to grow over the following weeks and even started to play with his squeaky toys.
One handicap still awaits
Unfortunately, Lucky, the little albino, is completely blind and one of his eyes had to be surgically removed.
Nevertheless, the now eight-year-old dog is enjoying a happy life and now also has a sibling, Mia.
