There are sometimes situations in which even hardened animal welfare activists start to cry. Many animals are found in a truly wretched state. But what happened here is beyond human comprehension.
In the middle of a field in the American state of Mississippi, local residents found a cage. Inside the cage was a puppy. It was literally covered in bite marks, wounded and almost dead from starvation.
In addition, the outside temperatures were wintry and it was very cold. Anyone who does this to an animal has a complete lack of empathy for living beings. An unbelievable and deeply shocking story from the USA.
Incidentally, fresh tire tracks indicate that the cage and puppies were simply placed in the middle of the muddy field by vehicle.
The employees of the „Tunica Humane Society“ organization present were deeply shocked by the sight and could hardly believe their eyes.
Soaked, half-frozen and almost starving to death
The night before, a storm swept across the landscape in the area. Needless to say, the poor puppy was completely defenceless against the storm. No water or food in the cage? Not a chance! Locked up in a metal cage in the middle of „nowhere“ in a field, helplessly left behind.
As soon as the helpers opened the cage, they realized that the animal had almost starved to death. So the rescue came at the last minute. Freezing rain, wintry temperatures and a storm must have taken their toll on the animal.
Completely defenceless and helpless in an open field in a cage. It is no wonder that the employees of the animal welfare organization were so furious and did everything they could to track down the perpetrator. Far beyond the usual measure of things.
They quickly wrapped „Melanie“, the puppy’s newly chosen name, in a warm blanket. In addition, all the helpers did their utmost to ensure that the puppy was nursed up. This was certainly no easy task, as the puppy was in a miserable physical condition.
Finally rescued and adopted by a kind-hearted family
Thank goodness the Baumgardner family promptly found Melanie and adopted her. They were so moved by the dog’s fate that they immediately adopted her. Now the family is looking after the animal with love and devotion.
We hope that the puppy will soon forget the tragic circumstances of her life. Fortunately, young animals in particular quickly forget their ordeal. Thanks to the pure love and care of her new family, Melanie is now doing brilliantly.
The animal has finally found a new family. A family that accepts her completely as a member of the family and will never abandon her in a cage in a field.
