Simply abandoning a pet is always the wrong decision. This is especially true for little Ariel.
This lovely dog has a number of physical peculiarities, including six legs. She is particularly dependent on human care.
Despite this, her owner simply dumps her and leaves her alone in a parking lot in Wales.
Found quickly
The little dog is very lucky in misfortune, as she is found quickly. She was in good nutritional condition.
The vets are therefore certain that she had only spent a short time in the parking lot.
After a visit to the vet, the little girl is brought to the Greenacres Rescue animal rescue center.
In shock
Even though she did very well considering the circumstances, the dog is naturally in shock.
Mikey Lawlor, the founder and director of Greenacres Rescue, remembers:
„When she came to us, she was intimidated and scared. She spent the first night with me and was almost completely shut down after everything she had been through.“
Ariel
At Greenacres, the furry friend is given the name Ariel. The animal rescuers came up with the idea because of her two extra legs.
These have grown together and are reminiscent of the fish tail of Ariel the mermaid from the Disney film of the same name.
Ariel also has other unusual physical features. Her pelvis is not properly formed because of the two extra legs.
She also has the beginnings of a second vulva. The good news is that all her internal organs are where they should be and function perfectly.
Operation planned
According to the vets, Ariel’s physical abnormalities can be treated surgically.
More than 1,600 pounds sterling or almost 1,900 euros have already been collected in donations for the operation. However, the operation is not without risk.
There is a possibility that Ariel will lose one of her normal legs. Fingers crossed that she keeps all her healthy legs.
200 people have already registered to adopt her.
