Rascal is a long-term resident of AMA Animal Rescue and has been looking for his forever home for what feels like an eternity.
The Pit Bull, who is already getting on in years, loves people – and wants nothing more than to finally find a family with whom he can cuddle all day long.
Life is no pony farm for Rascal
As a resident of an animal shelter, it is not always easy for Rascal to attract the attention of potential adoptive parents.
Since he first crossed the threshold of AMA Animal Rescue, Rascal has learned to stand out from the crowd.
While almost all of his friends use their barking to get attention, Rascal does the exact opposite.
He presses his chin against the cage door and waits quiet as a mouse for someone to pay attention to him.
Rascal is inventive
„Mornings are always particularly hectic at our animal shelter.
All the animals are totally excited to see their keepers and can’t wait to go for a walk with them.
Of course, they are still looking forward to their breakfast. Only Rascal has come up with a new way to ask for attention. And we have to say, it works!“
said AMA in a Facebook post, which was also quoted by The Dodo:
Why is Rascal doing this? According to AMA, for the following reason:
„Simply no one can walk past his cage and ignore his cute face.
It’s super sad that Rascal always has to come up with new ideas to get attention just because he doesn’t have a home.“
When Rascal came to AMA, hopes were not good for the sick dog. When he was picked up by an NYPD police officer in Brooklyn, he was completely malnourished.
Thanks to the shelter’s care, however, Rascal is now a happy and healthy dog with a great personality.
Rascal is still searching in vain for understanding
His lovable character has already won him a home or two – but unfortunately never for very long. Because his new people simply didn’t understand the dog.
Yet the senior is probably one of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs the world has ever seen.
When he doesn’t want to cuddle, he prefers to lie in his cuddly dog bed.
AMA is sure that this cuddly and lovable couch potato on four paws will soon find his forever home.
