Tugboat was found as a wounded stray on the streets of Washington and ended up at the animal shelter.
The staff found him just in time and could hardly have guessed at the time that Tugboat was no ordinary cat.
He has a great character, but it’s his voice that attracts attention.
Tugboat surprises the animal keepers
After arriving at the animal shelter after his rescue, Tugboat immediately starts meowing. But the real surprise only comes a short time later.
As soon as the little cat is cared for and has made himself comfortable in his box, his normal meow turns into a clearly audible „hello“.

This is how he greets all the animal keepers and brings a smile to their faces. But that’s not all.
The little stray loves to play
Tugboat clearly enjoys turning his greeting into a little game. Every time someone says hello to him, he repeats his „hello“ and plays the ball back.
He could probably go on doing this forever if the keepers didn’t have something to do now and then.

„He loves the staff and volunteers, but he couldn’t care less about the other cats,“
says Tim Anderson, the Animal Control Captain at RASKC (Regional Animal Services of King County).
Tugboat likes to show his gratitude
Tugboat shows his affection to others quite extensively, thanking them for the love and attention he receives from staff and volunteers at the shelter.
When it comes to getting cuddles himself, however, the special cat is a little picky.
„He likes to have the side of his head scratched, but he’s not thrilled about having his tail touched.“

tim Anderson reveals.
