Peanut Butter and Jelly are two fur-nosed seniors.
They live with their foster mom Lisa Arden and are looking for a great home for the golden autumn of their lives.
When you first look at them, you immediately notice the scars on their heads. They are a lasting reminder of an incredible event.
Gemstones
In July 2015, Peanut Butter and Jelly arrive at an animal shelter as young strays. When the staff look at the two furry friends, they are speechless.

On top of their heads, each dog wears a large gemstone. However, the gemstones are not inserted into the animals‘ hair, but glued to their skin.
When a vet removes the gemstones, she discovers burn scars underneath. This suggests that the stones were fixed to the dogs‘ heads with hot liquid glue.
Who does this?
No one can say who fixed the gems to Peanut Butter and Jelly’s heads.

It must have been someone who doesn’t think dogs are sentient beings, but lifestyle accessories with no feelings of their own.
The suspicion is also reinforced by the fact that the two furry friends came to the shelter as strays.
Presumably the owner simply abandoned them because he had had enough of them. You can hardly act more irresponsibly than that.
Good years and hope for the future
After the gemstones were removed, Peanut Butter and Jelly are doing well again.
They are not suffering from any other physical problems and the scars are not causing them any pain.

Then they get really lucky and find a great family with whom they spend many happy years.
But when the owner dies, there is no one to take care of them. Now, as senior citizens, the two are returned to an animal shelter.

However, a good foster mom is quickly found in Lisa Arden and the search for a forever home is in full swing.
The two dogs may be old now, but they are still as lively and playful as two puppies.

They have long since forgotten the bad experiences of their youth. Let’s wish them the very best for the future.
