DAR Animal Rescue was alerted about a little dog living on the streets and immediately set out to assist. They found the dog sleeping in a bush near a trash bin, a place he probably used to scavenge for food. The dog had a collar, suggesting that he was probably abandoned there. Despite being incredibly thin, the dog was gentle and friendly, leading the team to immediately take him to an animal hospital.
At the hospital, the dog, now named Sapphire, enjoyed a wholesome meal, seemingly happy and content. But the blood tests showed that he was suffering from three Mediterranean diseases. The treatment was expected to last a few months, but it marked the beginning of Sapphire’s second shot at life. The hope is for Sapphire to find a loving forever home very soon.
