Josie’s Journey
Josie’s story is that not of an ordinary puppy – it’s marked by resilience, purpose and an overwhelming desire to live. Josie, a German Shepherd Dog, was surrendered to a metro animal control after a traumatic event. Showing her fierce will to survive, Josie chewed off half of her back leg. Following an amputation, Josie has shown nothing but strength; she’s proved she isn’t just any ordinary dog.
Despite being a „tripod“, Josie is doing great and is now ready for her forever home. Strangely enough, her predicament has not left her downtrodden or defeated. Josie loves to roughhouse with her foster GSD sister and plays just like any other dog, defying the odds and her own physical limitations.
Life with Josie
One of Josie’s most endearing qualities is her spirit. She loves car rides and is housetrained. While she hasn’t been crate trained due to her wide turn radius post-amputation and the cone she had to wear, there’s been an indicator that she’s interested in it, often going into her sister’s crate. She may be a little bit different physically, but she is just like any other dog and full of life and verve.
Josie is more than a great companion – she is an eager learner too. She is incredibly food-motivated, which makes her an easy trainee. Josie knows the basic commands that every dog her age should. Her curiosity is still intact when she crosses paths with cats, treating them more as an intrigue than a bother. She is good in a home with other dogs where her exuberant energy and affectionate nature can be a source of joy.
Josie’s adoption fee is $450.00, and she comes with all vaccinations up to date. She has been spayed and neutered.
