Animal friendships are something very special – especially when they involve different animals that have grown to love each other.
The relationship between the two animals in this video is simply extraordinary:
It’s the best friendship between the giant tortoise Tilly G. and the cute little dog Skippy.
But what was their first meeting like?
Opposites attract
Tilly G. is a quiet and rather slow turtle who, according to her owner, takes several hours to wake up in the morning.
The little puppy Skippy, on the other hand, is the true opposite of Tilly G. The dog is full of energy and discovers his world at a rapid pace.
When the tortoise’s owners bring the puppy home, they are not yet sure how Tilly G. will react to her new brother.
Love at first sight
It was only supposed to be an initial, brief meeting between the little puppy and the big tortoise.
However, it is immediately apparent that the two animals find each other very interesting. Skippy gives the tortoise kisses and the tortoise watches the dog attentively.
Now Skippy the dog greets his friend Tilly G. every morning with exuberant leaps and little kisses. The owner of the odd couple says:
„Tilly G. doesn’t shy away from Skippy. He could easily retreat into his shell, hiss at him or walk away. Instead, he comes towards him.“
The friends conquer the hearts of the internet
It’s not just Skippy and Tilly G.’s owner who is happy about this unusual and unlikely friendship.
Viewers on YouTube are also touched by the pair, who couldn’t be more different. Drmelissastitz writes about the video:
