What a tragic and at the same time heart-warming story..
Unfortunately, sooner or later every pet owner has to say goodbye to their beloved four-legged friend.
This was also the case for Carlos Fresco and his animal best friend Monty..
One heart and one soul
Carlos had lived with his dog Monty for many years and spent wonderful moments with him every day.
The Labradoodle loved to go on long walks with his master and spend as much time with him as possible.
In Carlos‘ free time, the two of them went hiking a lot and have often been to the summit of Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons in Wales – Monty’s absolute favorite place!
At some point, his time came..
When the four-legged friend was ten years old and suffering from leukemia, he became weaker and weaker.
Carlos sensed that his beloved Monty would not have long to live.
But Carlos had an idea of how he could give his four-legged friend one last great joy in his life.
He decided to take him on a very special last walk!
The two of them went to Monty’s favorite peak together.
Unfortunately, Monty could no longer walk like he used to, but his master immediately helped by taking the dog up the mountain in a wheelbarrow.
Emotional pictures touch thousands of people
Carlos captures the heart-wrenching last moment with his four-legged friend in the wheelbarrow – and moves thousands of people to tears.
Many strangers who met Carlos on the mountain that day were deeply touched by the fact that he had fulfilled such a wonderful last wish for his dog.
After all, most people themselves know how difficult it is to let a four-legged friend go.
Over the rainbow bridge
Monty really enjoyed the attention of the many people around him – even though he was very weak and tired.
Unfortunately, after 18 months, Monty lost the battle against his severe leukemia and finally crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
But what remains is a wonderful memory of a four-legged friend who loved life until the very last moment.
