It was a chorus of screams that went straight to your heart. 😱
If you go for a walk on an afternoon in Southern California, you expect to hear the typical sounds of nature, children playing and people working in the garden.
But one woman was surprised by a very different, very unusual sound just a few minutes into her walk.
A chorus of mournful cries rang out
When the woman heard the screams, she knew something was wrong and she had to investigate.
„She followed up the cries and found a family of puppies,“
suzette Hall, dog rescuer and founder of Logan’s Legacy, told The Dodo.
The pups had taken up residence in a raised flower bed.
She realized she had to help.
The puppies were not alone
When the woman moved closer to the puppies, she realized that the mother dog was there too.
The mother was still actively caring for her babies and only left the „nest“ to eat.
She also protected her young. Every time the woman tried to reach for the puppies, they snapped at her.
Naturally, this was the way it should be, but the woman could no longer cope on her own. She had to seek professional help.
The mother dog viewed the puppy rescue with suspicion
As soon as Suzette Hall arrived, she set to work rescuing the small family of dogs.
„There were five adorable puppies that I carefully put in a crate,“
hall told The Dodo.
Now it was time to take care of the mother. She, of course, was not pleased to have the puppies taken from her and did not want to be rescued.
So Hall involved the babies and placed a few puppies behind the trap.
The mother dog immediately took the bait and tried to get to her offspring.
So she went into the trap and the whole family could be safely placed in the car.
The sweetest reunion of all time took place
Once they arrived at the vet, mother and children were finally reunited.
After the initial shock had subsided, everyone was overjoyed to have each other again. The mother finally had her babies with her.
„The puppies were playing on her and jumping on her and she was just licking them,“
hall told The Dodo.
The dog family’s new friends from Camino Pet Hospital nursed them back to health and now they’re ready for a new, loving home.
