A native New Yorker and woman had always craved the joy of fostering a dog. As a jewelry designer and photographer, Heather Hamm, had a lifelong affection towards dogs as she was raised with one and aspired to foster one.
One evening, as she was browsing Instagram, she chanced upon a post that made her heart flutter.
Information was shared via an Instagram account dedicated to providing details about free city furniture but had posted about a deserted dog tied to a post at a subway station without anyone claiming ownership.
This seemed like fate to Heather, and she instantly leapt into action!
This Was Destiny
Heather, sitting in her New York apartment, was browsing for a dog to foster online before she came across a picture of a lonely dog seated at the train station. Swiftly, her heart began to race!
The Nycfreecurb team posted on Instagram, “This pooch is tethered to a post at a subway station.”
Even without a solid plan, she opted to hail a taxi and pay the dog a visit. During the taxi journey to the specified location, she felt anxious since it was her maiden attempt at rescuing a hound.
Nevertheless, upon getting to the location, all her doubts were dissolved. The dog was so affable, and instantly started twirling her tail upon sighting Heather.
In a sense, she seemed thankful for the kind-hearted woman who showed up, and instantly warmed up to her. As though expressing gratitude, she licked Heather’s face and it seemed like she was saying, „I appreciate you, human!“
Viewers of the online post were left curious about the dog’s fate for hours, until a new comment caught their attention:
Heather commented on the Nycfreecurb’s post, stating, “She’ll be staying with me tonight.“
Our Best Ever Surprise Discovery
Heather welcomed the canine, who she later named Peaches, into her arms providing solace. After a dialogue with the New York City police, Heather was authorized to bring Peaches to her place, marking the start of their authentic journey.
They quickly created an incredible rapport. Right from the beginning, Peaches was incredibly sociable, plus she had excellent dog manners.
Peaches was also familiar with a few commands and she loved Heather’s game of fetch. She is totally smitten with her daily strolls to the park, and when it comes to play items, Peaches is head over heels for stuffies!
Allowing her into her life has been incredibly fulfilling and Heather couldn’t be more thankful. In spite of Peaches’ harsh desertion, she ended up with an affectionate foster family. Notably, her wounded heart healed completely around her new mother!
Eventually, Peaches found her permanent residence!
In a comment, Heather shared that Peaches had been adopted into a loving home, where she receives all the affection she ever craved!
“She’s doing fantastic! She was recently adopted and is being utterly pampered in her new home,” Heather wrote.
Once a deserted puppy facing an unsure fate, Peaches is now a joyous and content canine!
