Kitty Toast was rescued in Memphis/Tennessee with 15 other velvet paws.
At the beginning she was in a really pitiful state and hardly recognisable as a kitten.
Little fighter on four paws
„Her eyes were almost completely crusted over. She was the smallest of the litter, just half the size of the other kittens. She could barely walk around“,
said Toast’s foster mum Hannah Taff from Angels Among Us Animal Rescue to The Dodo.
In the weeks that followed, Toast recovered more and more. But at the same time, something strange happens.
A dishevelled kitty puzzles everyone
The healthier the little mouse gets, the stranger she looks! Her rescued siblings all look like normal kittens.
Not so Toast. Her fur suddenly starts to look all wild and messy.
Nobody knows why. But Toast always looks as if she’s been sleeping rough.
No matter how often she is bathed and combed: Toast always looks dishevelled.
„She gets bathed and brushed every day. Many thought she just needed to be bathed to look normal. But NO – she’s just special!“

Toast is not interested in appearances
Of course, Toast doesn’t really care what she looks like. She makes up for her messy hairstyle with a bubbly personality.
Anyone who is initially confused by her appearance will be wrapped around her cute little paws in no time.
„People almost always say she’s so ugly that she’s cute again. But everyone falls in love with her because of her great personality“,

Toast is one happy kitty
The only thing that bothers Toast a little is a problem with her eyes. But her mum Hannah takes care of that.
Apart from that, Toast is a very happy little kitty. She cries a lot, isn’t quite house-trained yet and is a big fan of parcours.
She may look ultra sleepy. But what does she care? She’s really just a little fur ball of fun.
