Annie Bunker and her boyfriend are driving down an alley one evening. It is already dark and the surroundings are only vaguely recognizable.
Suddenly they notice a pair of eyes staring at them from a property. A second and then a third pair of eyes open.
Curious, the couple stop the car to find out who is looking with such interest.
A real gang

When Annie Bunker realizes what kind of creatures they are, she quickly snaps a photo. They are foxes that have gathered in the dark.
That in itself is not surprising. Foxes are common here in the south-east of England. What is remarkable, however, is the number of animals.
There are not two or three, but a real small band of foxes. Unlike individual foxes, the animals in this group are not particularly shy.
They simply remain relaxed as Annie takes her photo. The woman is thrilled by this special encounter.
„I absolutely love foxes. They are such beautiful creatures“
she says delightedly.
The fox counting game

It’s not so easy to tell exactly how many foxes there are in the photo. So Annie posts the photo on Facebook and invites users to play a counting game.
There are at least six of them. No one can say how many others are hiding nearby, invisible to the camera.
