Many individuals often underestimate the remarkable resilience and strength inherent in dogs.
It’s heart-wrenching to contemplate that none should have to endure the overwhelming mental anguish of living predominantly outside, yet they consistently navigate through this.
This trait is truly extraordinary amongst dogs. In the forthcoming anecdote, we shed light on a wounded dog’s ordeal, discovered in a cemetery prior to its rescue.
A Heart-Wrenching Scene
When Stacey Habecker first stumbled upon Eve, the canine was in an atrocious condition and suffering from severe injuries.
Without immediate medical intervention, her chances of survival were grim. It was mere fortune that Stacey arrived in timely manner recognizing Eve’s desperate need for assistance.
Stacey acted promptly. She grasped the enormity of the dog’s distress, and decided to bring her to a vet.
Observing her wounds is heart-rending, it’s hard to picture the hardships she endured as a stray dog.
Having decided, it took Stacey a straight 20 minutes of carrying Eve to reach the vet. A significant amount of work was ahead once they reached their destination.
Upon closer assessment, it was revealed that Eve was suffering from scabies, a potentially fatal and highly infectious condition for both dogs and humans.
This information did concern Stacey, but the good news is that scabies is a treatable condition.
It was also deduced by the vet that the poor dog had been a mother at some point but likely faced the misfortune of losing her offspring. This news was definitely heavy on Stacey’s heart.
Eve Begins a New Phase in Life
Eve, after her duration at the vet, has successfully overcome her health scare and received her first series of medication.
Despite needing to continually consume medication, at least it had set her on the promising road to recuperation.
Stacey, taking the initiative, moved Eve to her residence, made her comfortable, and offered her plentiful food.
All seemed to be progressing smoothly until a considerable unexpected event occurred. On Christmas day, Stacey awoke to find that Eve had given birth to five gorgeous puppies.
This unexpected development left Stacey astonished but elated as well, witnessing Eve taking the role of a mother. She named the puppies: Comet, Blitzen, Dasher, Vixen, and Bucket.
Eve is persistently taking her medication for her health issue, but the situation has improved since she now has her adorable puppies around her.
Fortunate for Eve, she has Stacey, who will aid in her recovery until she and her puppies are strong enough for adoption.
