When a coal mine worker noticed a dog roaming around outside the mine one day, he thought nothing of it.
But when he kept seeing the four-legged friend there, he became suspicious and decided to take action.
She suddenly approached him
Mr Fitzwater, as the worker is called, realised that the dog had probably been abandoned and had no home.
She was left there completely to her own devices and her chances of survival were very slim.
One day, when Mr Fitzwater was off work, the dog came running towards him – and he couldn’t help but take her home with him!
Now she has her place in the world
He gave the dog the name Sadie Kate. She immediately felt completely at home in her new family and enjoyed the unconditional love that she had previously lacked so much.
She loves her owner so much that she waits every day for dad to get off work and come home.
Mr Fitzwater’s wife Sara watches the heart-warming scenario every day as Sadie Kate sits outside the house and can’t wait for the car to finally pull into the driveway.
