In almost every country in the world, there are dogs that are left to fend for themselves on the streets. Argentina is one of them.
New mum dog Way tries to survive on the streets of a city in Argentina and look after her offspring as best she can.
In the process, she comes across a lonely human baby. Way has to make a decision!
Abandoned to fate
It’s a routine she already knows: Way is out on the cold streets of Argentina, as she often is, looking for food for her babies and herself.
By now she knows the best places. The new mum dog lives her daily life. This has always been her home and her only refuge.
Suddenly she hears and sees something that doesn’t fit into a cold place. She cautiously steps closer and realises: a baby is lying completely alone and helpless in the cold. Without mum!
Way doesn’t think twice and makes a decision that changes more than just one life.
Cosy warmth
She immediately runs back to her own puppies and brings them one by one to the place she has just reluctantly left.
The little dogs snuggle carefully and warmly against her cool body.
It is an experiment, a temporary shelter. Way does her best to look after not only her own offspring from now on, but also another little baby.
Without the dog mum, there would be no hope.
A new home for everyone
The next morning, local resident Alejandria Griffin becomes aware of the unusual noises and finds the little mismatched family.
A short time later, everyone is rescued. The baby is examined at a hospital and the dogs are taken into care at an animal shelter until they are rehomed.
Santino, as the baby is called, is miraculously doing well. None of this would have been possible without Way. She saved his life and changed everything.
