Charlie and Doug are two truly adorable dogs who live in South Carolina.
They delight their owners anew every day, as almost all dogs do.
But the joy and happiness that the two brought to their family should not end behind their own front door.
The dogs had another very special friend
Kimberly Hansberry Shelton, as the owner of the two adorable dogs is called, lives next door to a 94-year-old man who apparently loves dogs as much as she does.
One day, her neighbor Mr. Bill slowly approached the fence of her property, holding something in his hand.
He waited anxiously for the two dogs to approach.
It didn’t seem to be the first time, as Charlie and Doug were very familiar with this situation.
They didn’t seem skeptical or anxious. On the contrary, they were full of anticipation.
He visited the dogs every day
Apparently, Mr. Bill had made a habit of visiting his neighbor dogs Doug and Charlie every day.
He greeted them affectionately and brought them a treat.
This was of course a great joy for the two four-legged friends. They were always very excited to see the old man.
For him, however, the mere company of the lovely dogs and their happy wagging tails was enough to keep him coming back every day.
Despite the fact that he was no longer able to walk well and needed a stick to get around, he would not let this beloved ritual be taken away from him.
The dogs loved the old man
If one of the two dogs reached the fence first, he naturally hoped that he would be able to dust off all the treats on his own.
But not with Mr. Bill, he made sure that both Doug and Charlie got something.
As a dog mom, Kimberly was in no way annoyed by the kind gesture. On the contrary, she was delighted with the loving attention the man gave her dog.
She even recorded the whole thing on video and shared her joy and gratitude for her animal-loving neighbor with the public.
„We are so happy and blessed to have such a nice neighbor,“ she wrote under her post.
Mr. Bill’s granddaughter also got in touch and wrote that she was proud of her grandfather.
